Google's Android phone whiz, Nexus One, no longer sold online. This allegedly due to pressure from the operators in the US
The decision to stop selling the Nexus One web site via Google reportedly passed the official blog of the Mountain View giant's.
"Clearly is clear that many customers prefer a direct experience of holding the device before buying," said Andy Rubin, Google's engineering vice president, as quoted from Reuters, Saturday (05/15/2010).
However, this step also coincides with the 'pressure' from some operators in the United States (U.S.). Two major operators, Sprint and Verizon, have previously said that it did not support the Nexus One.
Colin Gillis, analyst at BGC Financial, said Google's decision is a step backward. "Obviously they retreat from ambitions to revolutionize the way we buy cell phones," said Gillis.
On the other hand, the analyst recognizes that the mobile phone with Google's Android operating system from the start to threaten the iPhone and the BlackBerry.
Nexus is currently in the U.S. One can be purchased through operator T-Mobile. Google says it will continue to enhance its cooperation with its partners.
